Sun Salutation (Surya Namaskar) is the heart of a vinyasa practice. We often begin our asana practice with Sun Salutations. Is there a reason behind it? And, do you really know how to practice Sun Salutation safely? In this Back 2 Basics series, we will explore the meaning of Surya Namaskar and develop a functional understanding of every asana involved in this flowing sequence. You will be taught the correct alignment for each asana found in Surya Namaskar A & B and the Jivamukti Surya Namaskar. You will learn to use your bandha, gaze (drishti) and flow together with your breath. All levels welcome.
